Bev, you really made me feel at ease.
Scott and I don’t know how to begin to thank you for all you did for us. Scott looked for an agent in the area from the phone book, and I really didn’t know what he was getting us into. I knew nothing of the real-estate market. This was going to be my first home which scared me more than anything else. I remember the first day we came into the office to sign the agreement that you would be our agent. I was hesitant to say the least. Bev, you really made me feel at ease. You explained everything so that I understood what I was signing and why.
I had envisioned being pressured into buying a house by an agent who was interested only in how much commission they would get it. What happened is quite the opposite. Scott was eager to buy, and I was hesitant. I feel I need to thank you for not letting him buy the first property that we could afford, and making sure that I was comfortable in my understanding of what buying would mean. You had to constantly switch gears depending on which one of us you were addressing. You listened to what we wanted and asked questions when we weren’t as forthcoming as you needed us to be.
I still remember getting a call from you when we put buying on the back burner over the holidays. Even though our house wasn’t on our minds it was on yours. When something came on the market that you thought we would be interested in you let us know. And every time Scott saw something online you didn’t hesitate to get the information for us and set up a time when we can see this house, sometimes within hours.
I still remember one conversation we had just after a house that was “almost right” was sold before we even got a chance to put in a bid. I was feeling a bit discouraged but you said, “I’m glad you didn’t get that house because it wasn’t right for you.” It was at that moment that I realize that you were exactly right. Scott and I got to a point where we were willing to settle for a house that was OK or good enough, you wanted us to have the house we always dreamed of. The house that you helped us get is perfect, we really couldn’t have asked for more.
Now you would think that when we finally found the house of our dreams that the story would end there, but it doesn’t. With the interest rate still going down we asked you to look into the value of our house to see if refinancing would be a good idea. What you found is that our house had gone up in value 20% and less than a year. That is the kind of news every buyer wants to hear. If we had purchased any of the other properties that we looked at, some of which you talked us out of, I don’t think we would have seen the return on our investment.
I feel Scott and I got very lucky that we ended up with you as our agent and we want to thank you. I will always recommend you when I hear of people looking for real estate.
